Lemont’s Sage Mardjetko was spectacular in her team’s season opener as it defeated Bolingbrook, 3-0, on Thursday.
Mardjetko tossed a no-hitter with 19 strikeouts. Her only blemishes on the scorecard were a walk and two hit by pitches.
Frankie Rita paced the Lemont offense with three hits and an RBI.
Tyanna Thomas had 10 strikeouts for Bolingbrook (2-1).
Wilmington 12, Joliet Central 2: Wilmington surged in the middle of the contest to earn the victory.
Bradley-Bourbonnais 13, Reed-Custer 0: The Comets mustered only two hits, by Delaney Bruciak and Halie LaGrange, in the nonconference loss.
Pontiac 11, Coal City 1: Jadyn Shaw had two hits, but the Coalers fell far short in the loss.
Seneca 5, Gardner-South Wilmington 1: The Fighting Irish strung together 10 hits to claim the victory.
Naperville North 3, Plainfield Central 1: The Wildcats (2-1) suffered their first loss.
BASEBALL
Joliet Catholic 6, Wheaton Warrenville South 1: Trey Swiderski, Aidan Voss, Jackson Cullen and Vinny Spotafora all had two hits for the Hilltoppers (1-1).
Joliet Central 9, Bloom 1: Zach Riley connected for three hits and Alex Rocha pitched four innings for the win for the Steelmen (2-0).
Wilmington 9, Pontiac 8: A surge of offense in the late innings allowed the Wildcats to pick up a nonconference victory.
Morris 6, Bradley-Bourbonnais 2: Aiden Hayse struck out 11 in five innings to help Morris to the nonconference win.
Will Knapp had two hits and two RBIs.
Lemont 11, Sandburg 4: Brady Small drove in three runs, and Dylan Swanstrom had three hits as Lemont earned a win in its season opener.

Lincoln-Way Central 4, Plainfield Central 0: Christine Erdman had two goals as the Knights picked up a win in the Windy City Classic Tournament.
Plainfield Central 4, Coal City 0: The Wildcats pieced together a strong performance in picking up a nonconference win.

Lincoln-Way Central 19, Bremen 2: Cale Koester netted nine goals as the Knights rolled to victory in their home opener.

Lincoln-Way Central 10, Bremen 0: The Knights’ strong start to the season continued as they breezed to a nonconference victory.
