Area qualifies multiple teams to Coed Team IHSA Competitive Cheer finals

Three local teams earned a spot in the Coed Team division of the IHSA Competitive Cheerleading State Finals.

Bolingbrook, Plainfield South and Romeoville will participate in the Coed Team event, which begins Friday at Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington for the semifinal round.

Qualifying teams will compete again in Saturday’s final if they reach the qualifying standard set Friday.

Plainfield South

Plainfield South took second place at the Edwardsville Sectional.

Team members are Alejandra Rivas, Alyssa Prather, Ava Aguirre, Ariana Montemayor, Emilee Trunnell, Kristina Vish, Lila Prather, Mary Stein, Morgan Robinson, Sarah Martinez, Tyler Goorsky, Elliot Krakar, Edward Myers and Cameron Everett.

The Cougars posted a score of 89.37.

The squad is coached by Emily Stratton, Brooke Twohill and Shannon Cavins.

Romeoville

Romeoville qualified for the state finals with a fifth-place finish at the Peoria Sectional.

Team members are Arely Arreaga, Alyssa Baldwin, Eleanor Brady, Patrick Cadet, Brianna Doyle, Caitlin Giacomo, Ella Gage, Gizele Garcia, Lily Griffin, Taree Hosey, Veronica Iwanicka, Annalise Pitt, Larissa Leonard, Christina Rodriguez-Jones, Ashley Roppolo, McKenzie Saxon, Breanna Solis and Sierra Worley.

Coaches of the squad are Krissy Kinder and Tyeler DelRose.

The Spartans posted a score of 86.28 to advance.

Bolingbrook

Bolingbrook qualified for the state finals with a third-place finish at the Peoria Sectional.

The Raiders posted a score of 86.67 to advance.
