Lincoln-Way West put together a strong performance at home Wednesday, beating Lemont, 25-20, 25-23.
Isabella Been led the way with 10 kills, Emma Reidy had 19 digs and Alexa Flores had 11 assists in the victory.
Lockport 2, Romeoville 1: At Lockport, the Porters secured a nonconference win by taking down the Spartans, 25-17, 19-25, 25-19.
Grace Juergens had nine kills for Lockport in the victory. Ava Theoharis had 15 digs, and Lainey Green finished with 15 assists. The Porters are 5-3 overall.
Coal City 2, Manteno 1: At Coal City, the Coalers improved to 7-7 overall and 2-1 in the Illinois Central Eight Conference with a 17-25, 25-14, 25-15 win over Manteno.
Mia Rodriguez had 13 kills and seven digs in the win, Addyson Waliczek had 18 assists to go with eight digs, and Grace Norris had 14 digs.
GIRLS GOLF
Lincoln-Way West 177, Stagg 188: At Hickory Hills, the Warriors rode a strong outing from Kaylee Dwyer.
Dwyer shot a 37 in the win, and Abby Cabay shot 44.
BOYS GOLF
Big Run Challenge: At Big Run, Lincoln-Way East finished second at out of six teams at the Big Run Challenge in Lockport with 162 points – only one stroke ahead of Lincoln-Way Central and Lincoln-Way West, which tied for third with 163.
Lockport was hot on the Griffins’ heels with a 165 and Oswego brought up the rear with a 181. Neuqua Valley was the overall winner with a 157.
