Lincoln-Way West senior Tara Gugliuzza continued to light up the scoreboard this season, pouring in 27 points against Sandburg during a 78-64 win Saturday in Orland Park.
Ava Gugliuzza provided the Warriors with 18 points, Evan Pittman had 13 points, and Allie Wondrasek scored 11.
Providence 56, Westchester St. Joseph 40: At New Lenox, Annalise Pietrzyk’s 16 points led the way for the victorious Celtics. Ashley Raymer added nine points, and Gabi Bednar scored eight.
Lockport 41, Stagg 36: At Lockport, the Porters came away with the five-point win against visiting Stagg.
Seneca 55, Henry 40: At Henry, the Fighting Irish cruised to the win after jumping out to a 36-18 lead by halftime.
Madi Bromberek paced Seneca (7-0) with 16 points. Addie Eltrevoog supplied 11 points, and Kennedy Hartwig had 10 points.
Minooka 37, West Aurora 36: At Minooka, the Indians came away with a one-point victory in Southwest Prairie play.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Lockport 58, Stagg 36: At Palos Hills, the Porters picked up their second win in less than 24 hours with 10 different players cracking the scoresheet.
Matas Deksnys led the way for Lockport (4-2) with 16 points. Anthony Munson connected on five 3-pointers for 15 points, and Braeden Goebbert scored eight.
Andrew 52, Bolingbrook 45: At Bolingbrook, the Raiders suffered their first loss of the season in a SouthWest Suburban crossover matchup.
Donaven Younger paced Bolingbrook (5-1) with 11 points and seven rebounds.
Lincoln-Way West 58, Sandburg 42: At New Lenox, the Warriors picked up a home victory.
Minooka 48, Oswego 42: At Minooka, the Indians topped Oswego in Southwest Prairie action with Ricky Hill leading the way with 20 points. Jake Faron chipped in with 11 points.
Plainfield North 62, Yorkville 51: At Yorkville, the Tigers used a 29-10 margin in the third quarter to seize control of the Southwest Prairie contest.
Carlos Conley had 20 points for the Tigers (4-2).
Loyola 41, Providence 22: Offensive woes caused the Celtics (1-5) to drop a Chicago Catholic League matchup.
Streator 66, Reed-Custer 46: At Braidwood, A.J. Benning scored 18 of his career-high 24 points in the fourth quarter to help the Bulldogs finish off their Illinois Central Eight win over host Reed-Custer.
