9 students from D-86 in Joliet qualify for regional science fair

All 9 students received gold medals at D-86′s STEM Extravaganza.

Nine junior high students who recently competed in the Joliet Public Schools District 86 Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) are qualified to participate in the Illinois Junior Academy of Science (IJAS) Regional Science Fair on March 19.

Nine junior high students who recently competed in the Joliet Public Schools District 86′s Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Extravaganza earned gold medals.

These seventh and eighth grade students are qualified to participate in the Illinois Junior Academy of Science Regional Science Fair on March 19. This event will be held at North Central College in Naperville.

These students are Dirksen Junior High’s Aaliyah Hudson; Gompers Junior High’s America Suarez; Hufford Junior High’s Kimberly Alvarez, Allyson Anderson, Damian Garcia, Rebecca Hernandez, Mikaela Munoz and Liliana Picicco; and Washington Junior High’s Daniel Bautista.
