D-202 in Plainfield seeks nominees for 2 annual awards

Nominations for both awards are due March 21.

Nominations are open for two awards at District 202 in Plainfield.

For the first award, the District 202 board of education is seeking nominees for its 30th Annual Awards of Excellence. Past nominees and recipients of the Award of Excellence can be nominated again, according to a news release from District 202.

The second award is for the seventh annual Cheryl Ricciardi Exceptional Student Service Award.

Parents, students, district staff and community members are invited to make nominations for either award, according to the release.

Nominations for both awards are due by 5 p.m. March 21.

The Award of Excellence recognizes teachers and nonadministrative staff “whose work on behalf of students, and support of District 202 has been exceptional in some way,” the release said.

This Cheryl Ricciardi Exceptional Student Service Award honors a school-level certified student service worker at District 202 who exhibits extraordinary dedication to students. Any certified student services employee may be nominated, according to the release.

The board will host an awards ceremony at 7 p.m. April 27 at Plainfield South High School, 7800 W. Caton Farm Road, Plainfield.
