Minooka resident receives 2021 Heart of our Community award

Heartland Bank and Trust Company in Minooka honors one Minooka resident each year for outstanding volunteerism

Terry McEvilly recently received the 2021 Heart of our Community award from Heartland Bank and Trust Company in Minooka.

Ashley Jurkas, retail manager for Heartland Bank, presented the award to McEvilly at the bank’s Business After Hours event in Nobember, according to a news release from Heartland Bank.

Heartland Bank established the award to recognize local Minooka residents, like McEvilly, who “stand out” in terms of volunteering their time and talent for the benefit others, according to the release.

As a member of the Minooka Lions Club. McEvilly “serves as the voice of reason on the board,” according to the release.

McEvilly also chairs the Candy Day fundraisers, organizes club outings, helps with Minooka Summer Fest and is active with St. Mary’s Church fundraisers, according to the release.

McEvilly received a $100 Minooka Chamber Gift Certificate, a “Heart” award and an interview with radio station WCSJ, according to the release.
