Trinity Services, Valley View are offering mental health resources

Register now for a virtual tour of a virtual living room on Tuesday

Due to quarantines and lock downs, telehealth and online therapy has become a vital service for individuals during their time of need. Trinity Services Inc. is one of the community partners of the United Way of Will County.

Trinity Services will have a virtual open house at noon on May 18 for its new Living Room program, which is a new initiative in mental health care.

This Living Room program is one of more than 20 similar programs throughout the state that is part of the Illinois Department of Human Services’ Division of Mental Health Living Room Program.

Trinity’s Living Room, which is located in Orland Park, is a “safe, welcoming environment to deescalate from mental health or daily life stressors” in a home-like environment and the process the crisis and apply wellness strategies, according to a news release from Trinity Services.

During the open house, attendees can virtually tour the space and learn more about the Living Room program from staff members.

Staff members include therapists and recovery support specialists. The recovery support specialists are people who have overcome their own crisis situations.

Therapists screen people when they arrive and before they leave. The recovery support specialists provide individualized support and counseling.

Emergency services personnel may refer people to the Living Room or people may visit on their own.

Trinity Services’ Living Room is open s days a week, 365 days a year. Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Living Room is located at 14315 S. 108th Ave., Suite 222, in Orland Park.

In addition, Valley View Community Unit School District 365U has partnered with Care Solace to help provide referrals for mental health care for the VVSD community.

Using a web-based tool, students and their families, as well as staff members, are able connect with “carefully vetted local therapists and programs” in the areas of behavioral and mental health in just minutes, according to a news release from VVSD.

Care Solace will also have experts available to VVSD families to help them with the processes related to insurance, provider availability, scheduling and wait times, the release said.
