1 The Rialto Square Theatre will offer two events this weekend. Postmodern Jukebox will appear at the Rialto at 8 p.m. Thursday. “The Life and Music of George Michael,” which is a new immersive concert-style show that chronicles George Michael’s journey with his music and fans, begins at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. 2 The Irish American Society of County Will will host the 28th annual Manhattan Irish Fest on Friday and Saturday. Manhattan Irish Fest is a charitable event that has given back more than $440,000 to the Manhattan community and local organizations. Event features include bagpipers, Irish dancers, Irish music, and food and drink in the entertainment tent located at 90 S. Park Road in Manhattan. Children’s activities are available at the Manhattan-Elwood Public Library. A craft show will be located at the Manhattan Junior High on Smith Road. 3 The Illinois Rock & Roll Museum on Route 66 in Joliet will hold its first “Women Who Rock” concert from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. Friday at The Forge, located at 22 W. Cass St. in Joliet. Artists scheduled to perform are Beyond The Blonde, Ava Morse, Donna Rice & The Wild Blue Band, Lindsay Kent of Gen FuZe, Karen Hart in Vinyl Vixens, and Lukara and Chasing Amy. Radio and television personality Dolly McCarthy will emcee the event. Pre-sale tickets are available at RoadToRock.org. Proceeds benefit the museum, a registered nonprofit organization. 4 The Manhattan Township Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. All exhibts are free. Exhibits include one-room country schools, more than 100 years of educational trends, railroads, veterans, 130 years of Manhattan history, local theaters, telephone company, wedding dresses and local artifacts. Exhibit books featuring past displays and hardbound pictorial books of the town’s history are available. 5 Take a tour of the Joliet Iron Works from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Joliet Iron Works Historic Site in Joliet. Explore the stone foundation of Joliet’s once-thriving industrial plant. A naturalist will share stories of the men and machines that worked at the site 100 years ago. The event is free and for ages 16 or older. Register by Friday.
