Three houses of worship are serving up dinner this weekend with three very different menus planned.

Turkey supper

The Channahon United Methodist Church is continuing its 50-year-plus tradition of hosting its annual turkey supper from 3 to 7 p.m. on Saturday. However, the dinner this year is for carryout only and advance orders are required.

The menu includes grill-roasted turkey (choice of white or dark meat) and dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, cranberry sauce, a dinner roll and a choice of apple, cherry or pumpkin pie. The cost is $12 per dinner [cash] or $12.50 per dinner [debit or credit].

Call 815-467-5275 to place an order and schedule a pickup time. Channahon United Methodist Church is located at 24751 W. Eames St., Channahon.

Stuffed chicken breast supper

The Elwood Community Church is hosting a fundraising dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at 101 N. Chicago St., Elwood.

The menu includes stuffed chicken breast with bread dressing and gravy, baked potato and sour cream, green beans, homemade pickled beets, cole slaw, and homemade pies and desserts. The cost is $12 for adults and $8 for children ages 12 and under.

For carryout, call 815-423-5113.

Spaghetti dinner

The Joliet Jewish Congregation will host its annual spaghetti dinner from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at 250 N. Midland Ave., Joliet.

A news release from the congregation said that the dinner includes “a large helping of spaghetti” with meat or marinara sauce, bread, salad, a cookie and a soft drink or water. Tickets are $10 general admission and $9 for seniors and children.

Dine in or carry-out is available. Other features include a bake sale, raffle and silent auction.
