Pick up a good book, take a photo with Santa

Crest Hill branch library to host ‘Christmas in July Book Nook Sale’

Set aside the garden “hoe, hoe, hoe” and the summer heat this weekend in favor of good books and the man in the jolly red suit.

The “Friends” group of the Crest Hill branch of the White Oak Library will host a “Christmas in July Book Nook Sale” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Santa and one of his elves are driving down from the North Pole event and will appear at the library from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday.

The sale will include plenty of gently used books (including holiday cookbooks), along with CDs, DVDs, LPs and puzzles, all of which are perfect for gift giving, according to a news release from event organizers.

The Crest Hill branch library is located at 24670 Len Kubinski Drive, Crest Hill. Face masks and social distancing are required at this event.
