Two Reagan Middle School teams and one from Dixon High School faced off in the U.S. Drone Soccer District VI Championship Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024, at Dixon High School.
Drone soccer is a sport in which two teams of three to five fly protected drones in a protected arena. One flying guy gets to score, while the others defend and offer assistance.
A drone soccer match consists of two teams with each player flying a drone ball over the flying zone. The match is divided in three periods, or sets.
Drone soccer clubs at Reagan Middle School and Dixon High School have put the district on the map. Dixon's school district has been chosen to host a district qualification tournament for the rising sport in February.
