Whiteside County reported a dozen new coronavirus cases Tuesday.
There were three cases younger than 20, two in their 20s, one each in their 30s, 40s, and 50s, two in their 60s, and two in their 70s, as well as 50 new recoveries. Whiteside has had a total of 7,181 cases, 165 deaths and 6,134 recoveries.
Whiteside County has administered 34,968 total doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, with 15,677 people (28.18%) fully vaccinated. Lee County has had 21,901 doses, with 10,288 people (30.06%) fully vaccinated. Carroll County has administered 7,866 vaccine doses, with 3,761 people (26.28%) fully vaccinated. Ogle County has had 33,039 doses, with 15,004 people (29.46%) fully vaccinated.
The North region (Boone, Carroll, DeKalb, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside, and Winnebago counties) has maintained a positivity rate below 8% for 109 days. The region’s positivity rate increased to 5.8%.
Currently, 18% of ICU beds are available. Tuesday is the 22nd straight day this region is under 20% ICU capacity.
Lee County’s rate decreased to 1.4%, and Whiteside County’s decreased to 3.8%.
Hospitalizations have decreased or remained stable 10 out of the past 10 days in this region.
Illinois announced 2,211 cases and 19 deaths Tuesday. The state has had 1,343,988 cases and 22,066 deaths.
