Try These 3 Easy Thanksgiving Side Dishes!

While turkey and ham are regular mainstays of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, many people enjoy trying new side dishes to serve alongside the main attractions. If you’re looking for new ideas for this year’s Thanksgiving holiday dinner, here are 3 delicious recipes to try, courtesy of Delish.com:

1. Cheesy Brussels Sprouts Bake. In a large skillet, heat 2 tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil over medium heat. Add 1 lb. cleaned and halved Brussels sprouts, cut side down, and cook undisturbed 3-4 minutes, until golden. Add 1/4 cup water and cover. Steam until tender, about 3 minutes. Add water as needed. Remove sprouts from skillet and set aside. Add 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar, 2 tbsp. honey, 1 tbsp. Dijon mustard, and 2 cloves minced garlic in the skillet, and whisk to combine. Simmer and cook until thick, about 7 minutes. Return sprouts to pan, toss to coat, and heat an additional 2-3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper and serve.

2. Maple Bacon Carrots. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Wrap each of 12 medium carrots in one strip of uncooked bacon, and place all 12 on a large baking sheet. Brush all over with 1/8 cup maple syrup and season with black pepper. Bake 10 minutes, remove from oven, and brush with another 1/8 cup maple syrup. Bake 15 minutes more or until carrots are tender and bacon is crisp, then serve.

3. Homemade Cranberry Sauce. In a saucepan over low heat, combine 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water until sugar dissolves. Add 1 (12-oz.) package fresh cranberries and cook until they burst, about 10 minutes. Stir in 2 tsp. orange zest and a pinch of salt. Remove pan from heat and let cool completely, then transfer to a resealable container and refrigerate.

Enjoy these easy and delicious Thanksgiving side dishes this holiday, or any day!
