Letter: Thankful Illinois doesn’t have open carry laws

You don’t have to be an Einstein to predict that the verdict in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial will embolden the right-wing militia in its effort to intimidate any forms of protest, be they peaceful or not. We should be thankful that Illinois does not have any open carry laws. It’s a recipe for disaster to allow weapons of war on our streets.
