Huntley Fire Protection District firefighters extricated a woman from an SUV Monday afternoon after she suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Algonquin and Lakewood roads in Lake in the Hills.

The other driver, a man who was in a white car, was not seriously injured and declined medical treatment on scene, Battalion Chief Mike Pierce said. No serious injuries were reported as part of the incident, to which emergency responders were dispatched just after 2 p.m.

The woman who had to be removed by firefighters from the SUV after her vehicle flipped onto its side was taken to an area hospital as a precaution, Pierce said.

Traffic at the intersection was delayed for about half an hour, he said. Eastbound traffic on Algonquin Road flowed throughout the incident, but Lake in the Hills police had westbound vehicles detour around the intersection, Pierce said.
