Hadley Ferrero, Crystal Lake Central, fr.
The Northwest Herald Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year did not lose to another local runner. She won the Fox Valley Conference Meet and the Class 2A Woodstock Regional and was third in the Woodstock North Sectional, helping the Tigers to state as a team. She finished fourth in the state meet.

Bella Gonzalez, Crystal Lake South, jr.
Gonzalez is a three-time All-Area first-team selection after leading the Gators to second place in the Class 2A state meet. She was the FVC Meet and Woodstock Regional runner-up, took fourth in the Woodstock North Sectional and finished ninth in the state meet, her second All-State season and second top 10 finish.

Abby Machesky, Crystal Lake South, so.
Machesky is a repeat selection to the first team after an All-State finish at 15th place in the Class 2A state meet. That helped the Gators to a runner-up team finish. She battled an injury early in the season but came back strong late, taking sixth in the FVC Meet, third in the Woodstock Regional and sixth in the Woodstock North Sectional.

Jocelyn Onstot, Cary-Grove, jr.
Onstot made herself known this season right away with a second-place finish in the McHenry County Meet and continued to run strong throughout the season. She was third in the FVC Meet, fourth in the Woodstock Regional, 13th at the Woodstock North Regional and 22nd at the state meet to earn All-State honors.

Rachel Soukup, Prairie Ridge, jr.
Soukup battled through some hip soreness late in the season and still managed to take seventh in the Class 2A state meet. Wolves coach Kelly MacDonald held Soukup out of the FVC Meet and the Woodstock Regional. The Wolves advanced as a team, giving Soukup a couple of weeks to get better. She came back with seventh in the Woodstock North Sectional and seventh at state. She is a repeat first-team selection.
