Girls basketball
Huntley 74, Burlington Central 17: At Huntley, the Red Raiders stayed unbeaten by rolling past the Rockets in a Fox Valley Conference contest. Anna Campanelli led all scorers with 18 points. Ava McFadden added 12 and Aubrina Adamik and Madison Diaz added 10 each for Huntley, which improved to 17-0.
Alison Kowall led Central with five points.
Harvard 64, Alden-Hebron 42: At Hebron, Ava Peneciak scored 14 points and swiped seven steals as the Hornets picked up their ninth win of the season. Summer Jones added 12 points and Giselle Albarran added 11 points and 13 rebounds for Harvard.
Cary-Grove 55, Crystal Lake South 31: At Cary, Sam Skerl scored 22 points and Ellie Mjaanes added 19 to lead the Trojans in an FVC contest. Lake LePage scored 16 to lead the Gators.
Crystal Lake Central 40, Hampshire 39: At Hampshire, Ruby Macke returned from injury and scored a game-high 27 points as the Tigers knocked off the Whip-Purs in an FVC contest. Mikala Amegasse led Hampshire with 13 points.
Jacobs 52, Dundee-Crown 29: At Carpentersville, the Golden Eagles led wire-to-wire to take the FVC contest from the Chargers.
Prairie Ridge 47, McHenry 40: At Crystal Lake, Bella Militello scored 13 points and Maia Cassin added 12 as the Wolves took the FVC matchup. Avery Stinger had a game-best 17 points to lead McHenry.
Boys bowling
Fox Valley/Kishwaukee River Conference Tournament: At Woodstock, Huntley won the team title with a combined score of 6,284, edging out Woodstock co-op (5,852) and Marengo (5,508). Huntley also was the overall season champion, while Woodstock co-op won the KRC title.
Matthew Fishman led the way for Huntley with a six-game series of 1,355. Max Haggerty of Woodstock co-op was just four pins behind (1,351) in second place, followed by Matt Kurek of Johnsburg (tied for third, 1,281) and Joey Humphrey (tied for third, 1,281) and Noah Waters (fifth, 1,279) of Huntley.
Haggerty was named the FVC/KRC Bowler of the Year and rolled a perfect game.
Also finishing in the top 10 were: Woodstock co-op’s Sonny Marsalla (1,227), Huntley’s Austin Tenglin (1,223), Marengo’s Hunter Pankow (1,192), Woodstock co-op’s Noah Rodriguez (1,173), Marengo’s Daschle Mardock (1,173) and McHenry’s Peyton Spratt (1,173).
Boys basketball
Harvard 45, Alden-Hebron 19: At Hebron, the Hornets improved to 3-8 with the nonconference win over the Giants.
Johnsburg 77, Marian Central Catholic 49: At Johnsburg, Jayce Schmitt went for a game-high 21 points to lead the Skyhawks to the nonconference win. Ashton Stern and Trey Toussaint added 12 apiece for Johnsburg (6-8). Logan Brandt scored 13 and Stef Stojich added 12 for Marian (5-12).
Jacobs 50, Dundee-Crown 49: At Algonquin, the Golden Eagles eked out the FVC win over the Chargers.
McHenry 59, Prairie Ridge 36: At Crystal Lake, the Warriors remained perfect in the FVC with the win over the Wolves. Caleb Jett scored 13 and Dylan Hurckes chipped in 11 to lead McHenry.
Eli Loeding led all scorers with 14 for Prairie Ridge.
Crystal Lake Central 43, Hampshire 40: At Hampshire, Johnny Geisser had 14 points for the Tigers, who picked up their first Fox Valley Conference win. Bud Shanahan and Danny Spychala each had eight points for Central (6-11, 1-5), which visits Woodstock at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
Hampshire fell to 5-13 and 1-6 in the FVC.
Girls bowling
Marengo 2,765, Harvard 1,967: At Marengo, Callie Walters rolled a 534 series to lead the Indians in the FVC/KRC contest. Amelia Hernandez led Harvard with a 408 series.
Boys wrestling
Princeton 61st Lyle King PIT: At Princeton, Richmond-Burton wrestled to third place after one day of competition. Lelan Nelson, Adam Glauser, Clayton Madula, Emmett Nelson, Blake Livdahl and Colin Kraus advanced in the winners bracket for the Rockets.
McHenry 50, Dundee-Crown 29: At McHenry, the Warriors knocked off the Chargers in an FVC dual. Cody Kamp, Nate Hunt, Ryan Johnston, Myles Wagner, Cooper Floden, Aiden Schuldt, Johan Lopez and Landen Owens were winners for McHenry. Teigen Moreno, Landon Rueda, and Chris Gerrardo were winners for D-C.
Harvard 42, Mendota 23: At Oregon, Joseph Berkholtz, Damian Perez, Gabriel Quintana, Gavin Moore, Brennan Peters, Angel Ramirez and Bo Branum were among the winners for Harvard.
Oregon 35, Harvard 9: At Oregon, the Hornets fell to the host Hawks at the Oregon Quad.
Girls wrestling
Woodstock 53, Round Lake 24: At Round Lake, the Blue Streaks cruised by the Panthers in a nonconference match. Allison Hill, Hunter Goucher, Brianna Crown, Brianna Kotovsky, Ava Kok, Mila Masny, Danica LaTessa, Jazmyn Seeberger and Eva Hermansson won matches for Woodstock.
