La Salle County real estate tax bills mailed

The La Salle County Treasurer’s Office mailed 66,124 real estate tax bills May 21.

Tax bill due dates will be Thursday, July 1, for the first installment and Wednesday, Sept. 1, for the second.

Residents can pay by credit card online by following the instructions on the bill, in the treasurer’s office at 707 E. Etna Road or by phone at 1-833-975-2500. A convenience fee of 2.5% will be be charged for credit card processes.

Residents also may pay by automatic withdrawal from a checking or savings account. To sign up, go to www.lasallecountytreasurer.com to have taxes withdrawn on the day before the due dates. A $1.50 per parcel will be charged for this service.

Taxes also are payable by check to the “La Salle County Collector.” These checks may be dropped off at the treasurer’s office via the drive-thru drop box in the east parking lot on East Etna Road, delivered inside the treasurer’s office, or mailed to the treasurer’s office, or at local financial institutions.

If paying at the treasurer’s office, patrons must wear masks and get their temperature taken before entering.
