Spring Valley residents escape fire without injuries

The residents of a home on the 100 block of West Iowa Avenue escaped a fire Tuesday without any injuries.

According to Spring Valley Fire Chief Todd Bogatitus, a fire was reported to the department with a possible entrapment. The fire — reported as a kitchen fire — was extinguished shortly after the call.

Peru and Ladd Fire departments along with Dalzell covered Spring Valley’s station. Spring Valley police and 10/33 ambulance also responded.
