Mark Krenz scholarship available to La Salle County students

$1,000 awarded to a student pursuing agriculture, environmental sciences or natural resource management

Applications and information on the Mark Krenz Memorial Scholarship have been distributed to La Salle County high schools and are available at the La Salle County Soil & Water Conservation District’s office and on the website, www.lasalleswcd.org. Applications must be received at the district office by April 16.

The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a La Salle County high school senior or current college freshman, sophomore or junior who is pursuing a degree in agriculture, environmental sciences or natural resource management. The recipient will be selected in May.

The scholarship was created as a legacy for Mark Krenz’s dedication to conservation and education. Krenz was deeply involved with the La Salle Soil and Water Conservation District and served as board chairman and district director.
