“The wait is over,” said owners of Legends Apparel Co. in downtown Streator.
The new men’s clothing store is scheduled to open 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, at the Main Street Market, 317 E. Main St., which is home to More on Main coffee shop, Three Wishes, Charlie Lou’s, ReJENNerated, Inspired Whisk and Lash Photography.
Legends Apparel will sell clothing options for men and boys, ranging from casual to dress attire, with an online purchasing option in the works.
Legends Apparel is the second men’s clothing store to open in Streator recently. DRG Clothing Co. opened at 306 E. Main St., sharing its location with Urban Soak Shoppe LLC within the former Thrifty Drugs building. Additionally, Rashid’s Mens Wear — a long-time Streator store — is undergoing a facade restoration at its storefront at 407 E. Main St.

JACKpots in Streator hosts grand opening for patio renovation
JACKpots, 110 E. Hickory St., Streator, will host a grand opening Friday, May 7, for its patio renovation. A post by JACKpots Facebook page said: “Still a lot to do before then but we’re getting there.”
Designed to accommodate outdoor seating for three seasons, the outdoor space will have a full-service bar, televisions, fire pit, coffee tables, glass garage doors and fans and heaters to allow for all-weather seating.
“I’m from Streator, born and raised here, and I love it here,” Chad Lucas, JACKpots owner, previously told The Times about the renovation. “This is going to benefit the community and get people out more in downtown.”
Marseilles ice cream shop ready to open
Johnny’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream, 877 Bluff St., Marseilles, is scheduled to open for the summer Saturday, May 8 — Mother’s Day weekend.
