Drug agents made a methamphetamine and cocaine bust Thursday night in Peru.
Brian M. Maier, 35, of 1511 Walnut St. in Peru, was charged at 9:11 p.m. Thursday in his residence with unlawful possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and unlawful possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) with intent to deliver, Tri-DENT said in a Friday news release.
Tri-DENT, assisted by Peru police and the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office, obtained and executed a search warrant that yielded about 8 grams of purported methamphetamine and 4 grams of purported cocaine on the resident, police said.
The charges are Class 1 felonies carrying four to 15 years in prison. Maier also was wanted on a La Salle County warrant for failure to appear on a charge of domestic battery, police said.
