Mendota police charged two women Friday after responding to a disturbance taking place at Uncle Joes Gaming.

Police were called at about 11 p.m. Friday to the establishment at 900 Washington St.

Jennifer L. Lesley, 47, of Mendota, was arrested on a complaint of domestic battery and taken to La Salle County Jail. Laura C. Kaufmann, 33, of Dalzell, was cited on a complaint of disturbing the peace, a Mendota city ordinance citation.

Police said they are investigating the disturbance, and additional criminal charges are expected. Mendota police called on other agencies to assist at the scene of what was initially reported as a fight.
