Streator High School has hired new coaches this summer to try to rebuild its wrestling and girls basketball programs.

Jim Schmidt, who retired as athletic director at Plano High School at the end of the last school year, has been hired as the girls basketball head coach at conference rival Sandwich.

Serena’s Katie Baker and Fieldcrest’s Ella Goodrich played Saturday in Class 1A/2A IBCA All-Star game, while legendary Knights boys coach Matt Winkler walked the sidelines on last time.
