WOODRIDGE, - Woodridge police are investigating an attempted armed robbery and carjacking that occurred Jan. 20.
Police at 4:40 p.m. responded to the 8200 block of Carolwood Lane for a report of an attempted armed robbery and carjacking. The preliminary investigation determined that a woman had started her car when two suspects approached. One suspect stayed back while the other advanced toward her, brandished what appeared to be a black handgun and demanded her purse, according to a Woodridge Police Department news release.
The victim escaped unharmed and called 911.
Both suspects were last observed running southbound on Carolwood Lane. The male suspects are described as approximately 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall and between 19 and 28 years old. Both suspects wore full ski masks and winter coats, police said.
