Endangering the life of a child

Plano police arrested Sheryl Vanetten, 47, of the 700 block of North Center Street, on a charge of endangering the life of a child at 1:35 a.m. Sept. 1 at the police station. Upon arrival, officers spoke with Vanetten, who told officers that she had left a friend’s 3-year-old child at home alone while coming to the police department to use the phone. Vanetten was provided a ride back to her residence where officers observed that the child had been left home alone. The child was unharmed and placed into protective custody, later released to the custody of a family member. Vanetten was released on a recognizance bond and was given a date to appear in Kendall County Court.

No valid license

Plano police cited Destinie Hallenbeck, 18, of the 2600 block of 4645th Road, Somonauk, after conducting a traffic stop at 10:30 p.m. Aug. 31 in the area of Route 34 and Bill Street. Hallenbeck was released at the scene with a date to appear in Kendall County Court.

Aggravated speeding

Plano police cited a 17-year-old male juvenile for aggravated speeding 26-35 mph over the posted limit after conducting a traffic stop at 9:02 p.m. Sept. 4 in the area of South and Hale streets. The juvenile was released with a notice to appear in Kendall County Court.

No valid license

Plano police cited Alisha Decker, 40, of the 2900 block of Hoffman Street, for driving without a valid license after conducting a traffic stop at 10:10 p.m. Sept. 4 in the area of Route 34 and Mitchell Drive. Decker was released with a date to appear in Kendall County Court.

DUI

Plano police arrested Karter L. Hothan, 25, of the 1400 block of Twombley Road, DeKalb, on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol and illegal transportation of cannabis, after conducting a traffic stop at 11:13 p.m. Sept. 4 in the area of East South and South Lew streets. Hothan was taken into custody and transported to the Kendall County Jail in Yorkville to await a bond call.
