Retail theft, battery

Oswego police are investigating a report of a retail theft and battery that occurred at 6:38 p.m. Aug. 9 at a store in the 2700 block of Route 34. Police said no one was hurt in the incident, but merchandise valued at $175 was taken.

DUI, reckless driving charges

Oswego police arrested Steven A. Nila, 61, of the 50th block of Fernwood Road, Boulder Hill, at 11:50 p.m. Aug. 6 at a restaurant in the 300 block of Douglas Road. Police said Nila was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Police said Nila later posted bond and was released pending a Sept. 14 court appearance.

Motorist stopped, cited

Oswego police ticketed Brian A. Quinonez-Cejas, 20, of the 100 block of North Ohio Street, Aurora, after stopping the vehicle he was driving at 8:46 a.m. Aug. 5 on Harvey Road at Townsend Drive. Police said Quinonez-Cejas was cited for driving while license suspended, no insurance, disobeying a stop sign and expired registration.

Property damage arrest

Oswego police arrested Daniel E. Soos, 33, of the 1100 block of Napier Street, South Bend, Indiana, at 10:40 p.m. Aug. 6 in the 2500 block of Route 30. Police said Soos is charged with criminal damage to property.

Theft

Oswego police took a theft report Aug. 4 from a business in the 50th block of Stone Hill Drive. Police said $3,000 was reported stolen.

Sexual assault

Oswego police are investigating a report of criminal sexual assault that they received Aug. 3. Police said officers were told the incident occurred between Jan. 1 and Aug. 3 on White Oak Drive.

Protection order violation

Oswego police are investigating a report involving an unlawful violation of an order of protection that occurred in the village July 31 and was reported to them Aug. 3.

Driving while license revoked

Oswego police ticketed Jaribel Ochoa, 26, of Montgomery, with driving on a revoked license after stopping his vehicle at 10:15 a.m. Aug. 3 on Route 34 at Douglas Road.
