Downtown Oswego Chocolate Walk for Charity event a sellout

The annual Oswego Chocolate Walk for Charity has sold out of tickets, with more tickets sold than in previous years.

The fourth annual event, organized by the Oswego Downtown Association and the Oswego Area Chamber of Commerce, will run from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 6, featuring businesses throughout the village’s downtown. Proceeds from the event will support a charity, Camp Out from Cancer, a 501c3 nonprofit organization that sends care packages that have everything a child needs for an indoor camping adventure while fighting cancer.

As with the association’s Cookie Walk held in December, additional tickets were sold for the Chocolate Walk to cover an anticipated increase in demand.

Oswego Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Angie Hibben said that while businesses and organizers would like to sell more tickets for next month’s event, participating businesses have already ordered chocolates and marketing materials.

“To go ahead and up the tickets, it’s not feasible,” Hibben explained.

Participants will receive a canvas tote featuring this year’s logo to carry their chocolates in. Ticket holders will also be entered into a contest to win Downtown Dollars: First prize will be $100 in Downtown Dollars, 2nd prize $50 Downtown Dollars, 3rd prize $25 Downtown Dollars

Participating businesses in the Chocolate Walk include: Hudson Design House, A Lady and Her Tools, Locked in Photography, Fox River Academy of Music & Art, The Marmalade Tree, Oswego Cyclery, Bella-Gia/Prom Shop, Imagination Print & Design, Village Grind Coffee & Tea, Melissa Jean Boutique, Stonehouse Market, Floral Expression’s/Lil Emm’s, Urbane Hemp, Happenstance Goods, EXP Realty - The Kearns Team, ACES Education, Bentley’s Pet Stuff, Jerry Bannister Photography, Dusty Road Merchants, and Ginger Thomas Soap Company.

However, area residents can look forward to more events in the village’s downtown, including the Bunny Hop, scheduled for Saturday, March 27.

“Things are starting to pop, things are starting to open up,” Hibben said, adding, “It’s very exciting in Oswego.”

Additional information about the Bunny Hop will be shared as they are made available.
