Plano man arrested on charge of aggravated assault against first responder

Plano police arrested Timothy F. Baker, 54, of the 800 block of West Route 34, Plano, at 8:45 a.m., March 6, in the 14000 block of North Center Street on a charge of aggravated assault against a first responder.

In a statement, police said Baker flagged down an officer and asked him to call an ambulance for him because he was cold. Little Rock Fox Fire Protection District EMTs responded to the scene. As EMTs were starting to transport Baker to a nearby hospital as he requested, the suspect allegedly grabbed one of the EMTs and swung at him without making contact, according to police.

Police restrained Baker in the ambulance and he was transported to Valley West Hospital in Sandwich, where he was eventually released into police custody and charged.

Baker was later transported to the Kendall County Jail to await a bond hearing.
