Abby Pool’s buzzer-beater gave the Foxes, who trailed most of the game, a thrilling win over Plainfield Central.
With a chance to win it Plainfield Central missed a shot and Lainey Gussman secured the rebound, made the outlet pass to Alex Stewart who hit Pool. From there she took it all the way for a pull up jumpers that finessed in right as the buzzer sounded. Pool led all scorers with 18 followed by Stewart with 11 and Courtney Morse with 10 for the Foxes (6-14, 3-5), who won their third straight game.

Plainfield Central 44, Yorkville 35
Yorkville couldn’t overcome a cold shooting night in losing to Plainfield Central. LeBaron Lee scored 10 points, Jason Jakstys eight and John Swarn and Justin Jakstys five apiece for the Foxes (7-11, 2-7).
Oswego 51, Plainfield South 46
The Panthers won their second straight game.
Kaneland 64, Sandwich 39
Saulo Rodriguez, Chris Sommers and Chance Lange each scored eight points for the Indians.
“Hard fought battle tonight against a very good Kaneland team,” Sandwich coach Kevin Kozan said. “I am very proud of the effort the guys gave tonight. The ball did not fall the way we wanted it to but there was a lot to build off of from that game. We have to learn how to take care of the ball better but we are learning. I thought our defense was very good in the half court. We will build off of this game and get ready from Princeton on Tuesday at home.”

The Wolves advanced to sectionals with a 5,681 team score. They were led by Collin Bryant, who bowled a 1,256 for seventh place. Bryant also had the high game of 266 for the day, featuring 10 strikes. Senior Dylan Funk powered through an injury for the second week in a row and rolled an 1190. Junior Rob Vieira added a 15th place spot with an 1178.
