City officials in Yorkville are investing almost half-a-million dollars under your feet, replacing and upgrading the city’s sanitary sewer system.
After the City Council previously budgeted $440,000 in the fiscal 2025 for sanitary sewer replacement, the first concrete steps were taken towards completing the work.
The City Council approved on Jan. 14 a contract worth $387,475 with Missouri-based Insituform Technologies to complete the sewer lining improvements.
The City Council also approved a $34,354 contract with Engineering Enterprises, Inc. for design and construction of the large subterranean project.
The work currently is scheduled to be completed during the summer construction season.
