YORKVILLE -- Summer may still be a few months away but there is no better time to plan for summer camps than right now.
Yorkville SD 115 has released the schedule for its 2022 summer camps and programming. Registration is now open.
District 115 has planned many summer learning opportunities for its students and has a wide variety of activities and classes to choose from.
Students will be able to find areas of interest in the following camps: summer athletic camps, Camp Imagination, summer academic programs, music camps, and Yorkville High School (YHS) summer school.
Students looking to improve their talents in baseball, basketball, football, XC, dance and more will look within the summer athletic camps to prepare for the upcoming seasons.
Camp Imagination offers a series of weeklong opportunities in the areas of fine arts, cooking, language and reading, and STEM programs.
For students seeking help to familiarize themselves with the rigors of the next grade level, summer academic programs are available with many opportunities to choose from.
The music camps offer programs for orchestra, jazz band, concert band and more, to improve music skills and prepare for the upcoming year. The YHS summer school program offers course selections in science, English, art, driver education, and a variety of other subjects.
“We are very excited to open the registration for our summer camps and to have them listed in one, easy-to-find, location on our website,” District 115 Superintendent Tim Shimp said.
“We are honored to be able to offer so many opportunities for our students that will help them get a jumpstart on their academic skills, music development, and athletic abilities,” Shimp said.
The Summer Camps and Programming schedule is located on the district website under the Summer Program tab at www.y115.org.
Each specific summer camp, with all the activities and opportunities offered, are listed and provide detailed information with a link to register. Registration is now open and available on a first come, first served basis.
