• Halloween decorations valued at $60 were reported stolen Sept. 29 from a house in the 300 block of Douglas Road.

• Ricardo Escamilla, 20, of the 500 block of East State Street, Batavia, was arrested Sept. 26 on a DuPage County warrant on charges of resisting arrest and unlawful possession of marijuana.

• Jeremy S. Nowak, 35, of the 100 block of Madison Street, Batavia, was charged Sept. 27 with two counts of misdemeanor domestic battery.

• Target, 115 N. Randall Road, reported the theft of $118.63 in food items and infant formula on Sept. 23.

• A resident of the 1100 block of West Wilson Street reported Sept. 24 that he nearly lost $2,000 in gift cards in a scam. The gift card money was an overpayment of a refund. The resident realized it was a scam and did not exchange information with the scammer, reports stated.

• Dearick L. Williams, 53, of the 400 block of East Bowen Street, Chicago, was arrested Sept. 25 on a Cook County warrant on charges of simple assault. Williams was arrested at Suncast, 1801 Suncast Lane, Batavia.

• A resident of the 1100 block of Challenge Drive reported Sept. 21 that a family member used his credit card without permission in a$2,784.46 loss. The victim will not pursue criminal charges, the report stated.

• A resident of the 200 block of Webster Street reported Sept. 22 that he received a fraudulent check for $2,229 for payment of services.

• Brian S. Reynolds, 47, of the 100 block of South Washington Avenue, Batavia, was charged Sept. 19 with two counts of misdemeanor domestic battery.
