After taking the Class 2A boys golf individual title last year, Marmion senior Regan Konen is looking to repeat, as well as help his team to a title. That, plus St. Charles North's girls team hopes to shine in first state trip since winning it all in 2018.
In two tournaments, Beu finished fifth to help St. Charles North win the Boylan Catholic Class 2A sectionals, as well as took medalist honors at the DuKane conference meet. Beu was picked as the Kane County Chronicle Athlete of the Week in an online vote.
St. Charles North's freshmen duo of Abigail Gizewicz and Kayla Beu took second and third to lead St. Charles North to a team title, and Dundee-Crown's Sophie Morawski shot a 1-under in the back nine to earn medalist honors at the Jacobs regional.
Several teams including Sycamore DeKalb co-op, Kaneland, LaSalle-Peru and Ottawa battled the rain storms at the Sycamore Golf Club to compete in the Interstate 8 girls golf tournament.
