Visiting Fremd got off to a great start in its Mid-Suburban League crossover game Friday night at Buffalo Grove, as the Vikings led 21-0 just 5:20 in and ultimately triumphed 45-9.



The 62nd season of Mid-Suburban League football began as a pair of teams from opposite divisions completed their home-and-home two-year series. Hoffman Estates beat Buffalo Grove 35-24.

Jake Skoog and Nick Carlucci hooked up eight times, with four of those going for touchdowns as Prospect buzzed the Bison 63-28 in Buffalo Grove. The win enabled Prospect (6-2, 3-1) to clinch a playoff spot.
