The Kankakee County Soldiers will host their annual "It's our turn to play" event with GiGi's Playhouse, a Down syndrome awareness center, at 5 p.m. Sunday at King Middle School, 1140 E. Court St., Kankakee.

There will be a 3-point shootout, a slam dunk contest and a "Friends of the Soldiers" game. GiGi's Gems, a cheerleading group, will perform at halftime of the game.

Admission is free.
