Soldiers welcome old rival

The Kankakee County Soldiers will put their perfect record on the line against rival Gary at 5 p.m. Sunday at Hidden Cove Sportsplex.

The two teams are very familiar with each other. The Soldiers beat the Splash (3-7) in the Independent Basketball Association's inaugural winter season championship in January.

The Soldiers also beat them on a deep buzzer-beater to win the International Basketball League winter title in January 2011.

The Soldiers are 12-0. No other team has less than four losses. Battle Creek currently holds the fourth and final playoff spot with a 7-5 record through Thursday.
