Kankakee County Soldiers forward Stan Chismark may come off the bench now, but there is no drop off in talent when the former IBL all-star hits the floor.
With the Soldiers leading by just five points early in the fourth quarter against the Lake County All-Stars, Chismark went on a personal 9-0 run to help the Soldiers pull away for a 128-107 win Monday at Hidden Cove Sportsplex.
It was Kankakee County's fifth straight win. Chismark led the charge (8-1) with 19 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
"He's just coming out and delivering," said Soldiers coach Barry Bradford, who's increased Chismark's playing time.
Ryan Edwards and CeCe Malone finished with 15 points each. Everyone on the roster scored.
Kenyon Gamble added five blocks.
Bradford lauded the play of his bench, which helped the Soldiers run ahead after Lake County hung tight much of the night.
"Stan and those guys led the charge tonight," said Bradford.
The Soldiers are hot, but they'll get nine days off before traveling to Gary, Ind., to face the South Shore Splash and Bradford's brother Jay, the Splash's head coach, Dec. 15.
The Soldiers have already defeated the Splash twice this season at home. This will be the teams' first meeting of the season in Gary.
