A Kankakee man was charged by the Kankakee County State’s Attorney’s Office with criminal trespass to a residence when a person is present and battery following an alleged incident that occurred Monday in Herscher.

The charge is not subject to detention; Caruso was released.

According to Herscher Police, 38-year-old Anthony Caruso is accused of forcing his way into a Herscher residence.

Officers found Caruso inside the residence fighting with a woman and possessing a firearm, a release said.
