In accordance with Phase 4 in the Restore Illinois plan, Northern Illinois University athletics will admit 50 fans to its indoor athletics competitions beginning this week.
That will include back-to-back women’s home basketball games against Kent State. The Huskies will play the Falcons on Feb. 20 and Feb. 21, with a 1 p.m. tipoff for both games.
The men’s home game Feb. 20 has been moved to a 5 p.m. start against Miami.
A limited number of family members of NIU men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball and gymnastics team student-athletes – as well as visiting team families – will be allowed to attend home events in the NIU Convocation Center beginning Thursday when the NIU volleyball team hosts Eastern Michigan in Victor E. Court.
Masks and social distancing, including in the seating areas, will be required. Currently, no tickets will be available to the general public.
Attendance policies for NIU outdoor sports will be announced at a later date.
