Sycamore Lions to sponsor free vision screening for children

SYCAMORE – The Sycamore Lions Club will sponsor free vision pre-screenings for children 6 months to 6 years of age.

The screenings will take place at the Cookies with Santa event hosted by the Sycamore Lions Club and the Sycamore Park District. The event will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Friday and 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the park district community center, 480 Airport Road in Sycamore. The event requires a reservation, which can be made by calling the park district at 815-895-3365.

The screening event is part of a nationwide initiative called Lions KidSight USA, a coalition that brings together Lions programs that screen children. KidSight USA was developed by Lions in the U.S. to protect the eye health of America’s children in their early years. Lions in the U.S. screen more than 500,000 children per year.
