Interact Club of Sycamore High School donates care packages to Kishwaukee ER

SYCAMORE - The Interact Club of Sycamore High School donated 24 care packages to the Emergency Room department at Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital recently for their monthly service project.

The club is a service organization at Sycamore High School run by Rotary Club of Sycamore.

Every month, the Interact Club meets to plan and put together projects that help make the community a better place. The club’s mission is to demonstrate “Service Above Self” in the community and world.

For their most recent project, the members decorated and put together 24 care packages filled with a collection of small toys and activities. These packages were donated to the ER department at Kishwaukee Hospital for kids who could use a little cheering up.

The idea came from club member, Lily Kushnick, during one of the club’s Planning & Brainstorming Meetings. In the future, the Interact Club of SHS plans to continue helping out the community in ways like this, and expanding the club’s ever growing membership.
