High school sports roundup for Saturday, Nov. 27

Northern Illinois University was unable to make up for a slow first half at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisc. on Saturday, falling to Marquette 80-66.

Keshawn Williams led all scorers with 17 points in spite of the loss, while Zool Kueth scored 14, Kaleb Thornton added 12 and Adong Makuoi chipped in 10.

Genoa-Kingston 71, Westminster Christian 36: At Elgin, the Cogs (3-1) wrapped up third place at the Westminster Christian Tournament by taking down its host.

Jake Oates had 19 points, Alec Golembiewski had 18 points and Josh Oates scored 12.

Indian Creek 64, Cristo Rey 34: At Elgin, the Timberwolves picked up a win at the Westminster Christian Tournament.

Grant Schlorff led the way with 11 points, Christian Meier scored 10 and Brayden Todd pitched in with nine points.

St. Charles East 61, Kaneland 30: At Maple Park, the Knights were unable to keep up in a one-sided loss at home.

McKenzie Schueler was top scorer for Kaneland (2-4) with seven points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Somonauk 34, Genoa-Kingston 25: At Genoa, the Cogs failed to get the offense going in a loss at home.

Emily Gilbert had nine points for G-K (5-2).

BOWLING

Plainfield South Invite: At Plainfield, Kaneland finished 22nd out of 26 teams.

Nate Rusev was a highlight for the Knights, bowling his highest game ever: a 177.
