Sycamore soccer picked up a couple wins at a tournament in Woodstock, Jessie Fredrickson had 39 total kills in a trio of Genoa-Kingston wins and more in the roundup.

For the second week in a row, Travis Moore came up with a big interception for the DeKalb football team. Moore’s interception led to a DeKalb field goal, and the Barbs knocked off Phillips 26-8 on Friday

Carter Grabowski had a career night with 225 yards and three touchdowns, and Kaneland needed to hold off visiting Lemont 42-37.

The Kaneland and DeKalb boys golf teams picked up victories, the G-K girls cross country team took the top four spots at a home meet, and more in the roundup.

DeKalb senior Issy Smith delivered nine straight service points against Kaneland in the second set and the Barbs used that momentum to sweep the Knights, 25-22, 25-19, for their first win of the season.

Junior Connor Verde scored two goals, including the eventual game-winner in the 48th minute, to help Batavia snap a 28-game winless streak with a 4-2 victory over Kaneland.
