A yellow glider plane crashed into a cornfield in Somonauk Monday, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

The pilot, a 47-year-old man from Huntley, was not injured, authorities said.

The crash was reported just before 5 p.m. Monday near Graham and Chicago roads in Somonauk.

Deputies said the glider lost hot air and was no longer able to maintain altitude. It landed in the cornfield south of Chicago Road and to the west of Graham Road.

No citations were issued.
