Roadway reopened in DeKalb after gas leak, authorities say

DeKALB – A portion of Fairview Drive in DeKalb that was closed temporarily Tuesday night has reopened after authorities said they responded to a gas leak.

Fairview Drive between South First Street and Heritage Road was closed as of 5:32 p.m., according to a City of DeKalb emergency alert.

The public was asked to avoid the area.

The roadway was reopened about an hour later, according to another city alert sent at 6:38 p.m. Tuesday.
