DeKalb man shot multiple times in East Dundee

A DeKalb man is in stable condition after being shot several times Monday, Jan. 11 while sitting in his car in East Dundee, police said.

Police said that officers called to the 100 block of Dundee Avenue about 6 p.m. Jan. 11 found the 19-year-old man bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said the victim told officers he knew the assailant. The shooting was an isolated event and there is no information indicating a danger to residents, police said.

The DeKalb man initially was taken to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin then transferred to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where police said he remains in the intensive-care unit.
