Rural Princeton man killed in single-vehicle crash

PRINCETON — An 18 year-old rural Princeton man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning.

Bureau County Sheriff’s Office reports at about 6:15 a.m. deputies responded to the scene of a single-vehicle crash on 1800 North Avenue at 2300 East Street.

According to the report, a white 2012 Jeep appeared to have entered the ditch just before this intersection while traveling east on 1800 North Avenue. The ditch at the intersection acted as a ramp. The Jeep went airborne and flipped after hitting the ground.

The driver, who was the only one in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. The name is being withheld at this time, pending notification of family.

The accident remains under investigation by the Bureau County Sheriff’s Office and Bureau County Coroner, Janice Wamhoff.

Princeton Fire and EMS also responded to the scene.
