Bailey Broers’ funeral moved to Bureau Valley to accomodate large crowd

WALNUT - Bailey Broers touched more lives than he’ll ever know.

The Bureau Valley community is mourning the loss of the Walnut teen killed in a single-vehicle Thursday morning north of Sheffield. Due to the anticipated of a large gathering for his funeral, Tuesday’s services for the 16-year-old teen from Walnut were moved from Garland Funeral Home to the high school at 10 a.m.

His visitation remained at Garland Funeral Home on HWY 92 in Walnut from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday.

The Bureau Valley FFA will honor its fallen member with a tractor drive in his honor following his funeral.

The hearts’ of Bureau Valley FFA Members and our Community are aching this weekend as we grieve the loss of one of our members, Bailey Broers.

For those of you who knew Bailey, consider yourself one of the lucky people who got the chance to know his bright eyes, his huge smile, and his gigantic heart. Our chapter, our school, our community, and our world will forever be impacted by Bailey Broers. In a short period of time, that young man influenced more than most will in an entire lifetime. Bailey may be gone, but his legacy will last far beyond his short time with us on earth.

To celebrate the impact Bailey made on all of our lives please join us in a Tractor Drive on Tuesday, July 20 following his funeral. We welcome any and all tractors or farm vehicles/trailers!

If you are an FFA Member we would love for you to wear Official Dress or the “typical Bailey” outfit of cinch jeans, boots/twisted x, and a Carhartt shirt.

Tractor Drive Timeline

8 to 9:15 a.m. -- Drop off Tractors at Nutrien (20182 IL-40, Sheffield

10:00 -- Bailey’s Funeral at BVHS in Manlius.

Noon (or 45 Minutes following the conclusion of the funeral) -- Tractor Drive Leaves from Nutrien

12:30 p.m. Luncheon at MJ Seed (8927 1925 N Ave, Sheffield
